Save Tiny the Pig!

…a special appeal for a special pig

Tiny really is SOME pig! Pardoned from the slaughter line as a piglet and brought to the Lewis Oliver Farm in 2008 at 10 months old and 200 lbs, Tiny has grown to be a 700lb bundle of joy and the star attraction on the farm. With his pink nose, black spots and a giant frame dwarfed only by his love for attention and belly rubs, Tiny
continues to win the hearts of everyone he meets.

Tiny has brought many smiles and lasting memories for all who love to visit him. He has been a good friend to many and now he needs our help!

Our first snow of the season created challenging conditions inside Tiny’s pen

Sadly, in recent months, Tiny has been experiencing intermittent episodes of rear leg lameness. Although he has been receiving excellent veterinarian care which has helped him through these episodes, unlike the large animal veterinarian centers found in more rural and farm-dense areas, our vets do not have the tools and resources necessary to fully diagnose and treat a pig as large as Tiny. And with the approaching winter, we are gravely concerned for his well being. The snow and ice will make it even more difficult for him to navigate through his pen and house which he has since outgrown.

Our friends at Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary have graciously offered to assist in

Patsy & Judy, two pigs who live at Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary

our mission to give Tiny a last chance for improved health and a better quality of life. Tiny has been invited to live at the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary where he will be cared for by an experienced staff of professionals who will oversee his veterinarian care, provide him with a large indoor barn, access to spacious pastures and the much needed companionship of other pigs.

As much as we love and will miss Tiny, we know that he deserves this once in a lifetime opportunity and we need everyone’s help to make it happen! He has brought us all so much joy and happiness …it’s time for us to return the favor!

Tiny enjoys a back scratch from Amy.

  1. Hello,

What is the total amount you need to save Tiny?

Hi Estée..thank you for your comment..the amount is somewhat undetermined since much depends on the diagnosis and course of treatment needed. Funds raised will cover transporting Tiny ( 500 mile round trip) up to Cornell Farm Animal Hospital, vet exam and treatment including treatments Tiny has received to date under the care of Friends of the Farm. . Additional funds raised will go toward a re-homing grant in Tiny’s name for Woodstaock Farm Animal Sanctuary who will be adopting Tiny into their home where Tiny will have the luxury of a large indoor barn, access to pasture and the much needed companionship of other pigs…a pig heaven!
All donations..big and small..will help get Tiny to where he needs to be. Thanks again for your concern and compassion!
